We’re seeking a seasoned, experienced sales executive to join our growing company’s leadership team as the VP of Sales. In this role, you are responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that drive sustainable revenue growth for the company, and monitoring and reporting on sales goals, adjusting tactics as needed to reach them. The VP of Sales will also work closely with other executives to drive strategic direction and resource allocation for the company.

We’re looking for someone who brings experience scaling up and optimizing sales processes from the ground up and executing to deliver desired business outcomes and who can succeed in a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial environment, working closely with the marketing, customer success, & product teams to drive results.

Position Summary:

You are responsible for understanding and driving acquisition of customers that are the right fit for our solution so they stick with us as their practices grow. New customer growth and customer retention are critical for the organization and you and your team.

You’ll scale up our current sales team to deliver against aggressive targets and drive for continual measurement and optimization of ROI and objectives. You’ll work closely with Product and Marketing to drive the right prospects from the sales funnel to paying and engaged customers.


You will be charged with having a close working relationship with marketing so that you and your high energy team can convert highly qualified leads to customers that are retained and generate strong NRR.

  1. Recruiting
    • Identifying and attracting the right people to sell our SMB SaaS solution as we scale up
    • Keeping the talent funnel primed so that the company’s growth targets can be achieved on time and on budget
  2. Advising and coaching
    • Train and coach sales team on an ongoing and regular basis
    • Maintain high morale and create strong culture with sales team
    • Ensure sales team develops a culture of learning and sharing insights and feedback from customer interactions with the product team
    • Using leadership skills and example to build a culture of unity with the other parts of the Cloud Dentistry team - ensuring there is no “us vs. them” culture
  3. Optimizing the sales process and tactics
    • Work with leaders in Product and Marketing to ensure that Product and Marketing and Sales strategies, processes, and tactics are aligned to achieve new and retained customer growth
    • Identify and monitor KPIs for entire sales team
    • Work with finance team to prepare monthly sales reports, including all relevant KPIs, for the executive team
    • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and yearly budgets, and allocate resources accordingly
    • Develop and continuously optimize sales tactics and workflows
    • Ensure growth targets are achieved within budget
  4. Defining strategy
    • Develop and refine sales strategy as needed to exceed sales objectives
    • Define strategic initiatives for increasing share of customer wallet
    • Working closely with marketing, develop strategies and plans to ensure an appropriate mix of large and small clients across markets to achieve optimum marketplace performance
  5. Closing business
    • Lead the effort or assist sales associates as necessary to close profitable business with large clients

Desired Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with a budget to deliver on objectives
  • Marketplace company experience is a plus but not required
  • Experience in a senior leadership role in a growing early stage company
  • Experience with remote team members
  • Background in the dental or healthcare industry is a plus but not required
  • BS in Marketing or Business preferred but not required
